This is the number of seconds we spend thinking about or thinking of another number (5, 6, 9, 10, 11). Sometimes, it is really hard to measure if five, six, or ten is a sensible or rational number.
It’s really hard to measure how many of our thoughts we actually have. When we do, it’s even harder to figure out if our thoughts are rational or not because we tend to run from the idea that something is a rational number.
It’s not as if we think everything is rational.
It might be true that we all have five thoughts going on at a time, but to figure out if they are rational or not, I would suggest having a conversation. For instance, maybe five thoughts in a row is a rational number. Then I could say, “Are you sure you’re not just thinking of five thoughts in a row?” This might get you thinking about what is a rational number.
Maybe it is, but I would challenge anyone who says it isn’t to have a conversation. It might be a logical way to look at it, but there are a lot more rational ways to look at it.
Another reason why it might be a rational number, is that if you were to look at it from the point of view of a rational person, and you were to take a step back and look at it from the point of view of someone with an amnesia disorder. The rational person would say, “I see two things that are happening here,” or “this is something I would not normally have to think about.
I think that the amnesiac is just a really good example of how we use rationality to justify our existence. We might justify our existence by saying this is the only way to survive, or that this is how we have to think, or this is the only way to know the truth, or we might justify our existence by saying that we’re so far above average that there is no other way to live.
The problem is when we’re not even aware of ourselves. When we are unaware of ourselves, we don’t even know we are unaware. Our minds can still do the same thing as though they were not aware of themselves.
We might not even be aware of ourselves if we weren’t even aware of ourselves. We might be unaware of ourselves if we were unaware of ourselves. But we’re just as likely to be unaware of ourselves as we are to be aware of ourselves. We’re just not aware of all that we are.
The difference between being aware and not being aware is the way we react to something. If we are unaware of something, we react by denying it. If we are aware of something, we react by claiming it. Our reactions are our emotions. When we are unaware of something we react by denying it, denying it is the same thing as admitting that it is there. When we are aware of something we react by claiming it. Our reactions are our beliefs.
