The first time we heard about a black and white dog being called “Abacus” was in 2010 when she tweeted that her friends were calling their pet Abigail Adams after President John Quincy’s wife (who he married later than 1844). But it seems like Taylor doesn’t care what name is given to them as long as they’re happy with it. She even said:

“”I’m usually the one giving names to famous things, but I just let them [my editors] do whatever THEY want.” -Taylor Swift

A good example of this is in an interview with Genevieve from Rolling Stone magazine when she was asked about her song “Blank Space”. Taylor said:

“”It’s a tongue-in-cheek reference to how you can’t tell what people are thinking,” says Swift. “You have no idea who they’re talking to or what their deal is because they present themselves as so many different versions of themselves on social media – which nobody does more than me.” If there were ever any doubt that we could never fully understand TayTay, it has now

“I just named my dog Fiancé. Does that mean I get to marry him too, or am I going to be single forever?” -Taylor Swift (2012)

That would be really cool if my dog’s last name was “Lauel” — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) July 17, 2011

Taylor Swift has been rocking the same look for a long time.

That changed on Wednesday, when she posted this photo of her black and white pups to Instagram:

“I’m sorry but I can’t resist sharing that my two favorite dogs have very different names,” Swift captioned the image with “Coca” and “Blanche.”

She went on to list their other monikers as well: “Nugget, Zazu (sounds like Saahhsh), Chestnut (which is pronounced Chayshtoo). We also call them Cocoa Bean & Blanco Bronco.”

This was not Taylor’s first foray into dog nomenclature—in an interview with Vogue, Swift mentioned how her dogs’ names also include “Cocoa,” “Nugget” and “Zazu.”

Taylor’s love of naming things is well documented. The pop star has been tweeting about the topic since 2011:

@Alyssa7436 they — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) July 17, 2011 @PennyLane_17 I’m sorry but I can’t resist sharing that my two favorite dogs have very different names. They’re Cocoa & Blanche (pronounced Blazh)— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) April 23, 2013

@TessaLeigh26 Nugget Zaza Chestnut : we also call them Cocoa Bean & Blanco Bronco. Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) April 23, 2013

Swift’s obsession with naming things is so well documented that the word “naming” appears in her latest album name (1989). In an interview she said: “”I was really interested in a year of time where people were very focused on what to call everything and came up with some interesting names for themselves.”

Although it might seem like naming pets would be low priority when you’re busy making albums or living your best life, we think Taylor can pull off anything even dog nomenclature! Taylor Swift is a woman of many talents and she takes to Twitter with enthusiasm. She tweets about everything from her latest project or trip, to what the name for black and white dogs should be (spoiler alert: “Blanche” may be it).
